As most of you are aware I have recently joined BranWell Ford as a new consultant and will be covering my colleague Hayley’s desk whilst she is away on maternity leave. During these quiet times due to holiday season, it has been great for me as it has been a very busy couple of months. I have been learning new processes within BranWell Ford and the Pensions Industry. I am now up to speed and currently working on a number of exciting vacancies across the United Kingdom within Pensions Administration and Flexible Benefits. I look forward to working with you all and making a mark within the industry.

The holiday season is well and truly underway and as usual for this time of the year, recruitment is a slow process.  This has added to the effect of the economic climate by causing an even more exaggerated situation.

 

Take this time to really hone your CV to represent your skills in the best light relevant to individual roles.

 

This also is a time to go the extra mile in preparing for interviews, even more important given the number of candidates applying for each and every role. Do some thorough research on the company history, services they offer, topical issues, the interviewer etc etc and ensure they know you have done so at the interview.  Refer to any relevant articles or press releases, awards etc. when appropriate at the interview.  This demonstrates you are taking your application seriously and treating their company and role with respect and enthusiasm.  Interviews are highly prized and thin on the ground for each candidate searching for a new position at the moment, so make sure you grasp the opportunity whole heartedly.

Well it is the Summer silly season so I would like to take this opportunity to speak to all the gardeners out there, specifically those who like nothing better than pottering around their vegetable plot.  Speaking as a first time veggie grower this year, I have found the last few weeks of broad bean, potato, beetroot and spring onion pulling particularly satisfying.  There is nothing like getting your hands dirty and your limbs aching to really get things in perspective.  Yes the weather has been pretty rubbish and we are still in the midst of fairly gloomy economic times, but if you are looking for a new job, hoping to not lose your job, or anything in between, I heartily recommend a bit of time in the great outdoors.
